Direct Access
Open our Direct Access information (PDF) ↗
We accept direct access instructions. You can approach our team without first instructing a solicitor. We will discuss your circumstances and confirm whether we can help.
How to get started
- Send a brief outline of your matter, the people involved and any court dates or deadlines.
- We check availability, conflicts and whether direct access is suitable. We may ask for relevant documents.
- Before work begins, we agree the scope of our work, responsibilities and fees with you.
Support with your matter
Our priority areas include family law, children arrangements, care proceedings and domestic abuse. Depending on your matter and the instructions agreed, support may include advice, preparation of documents and representation.
Understand who will do what
Advice and advocacy are different from conducting litigation. The authority to issue proceedings, serve documents or manage litigation must be checked separately. We will explain what we can undertake and whether you will need to take steps yourself or instruct a solicitor. Direct access is not suitable for every case.
Fees and practical arrangements
Ask us for a written explanation of the proposed work and its cost, including any applicable VAT or additional expenses. Tell us if you need information in another format or support to communicate with us.
